HILLSDALE – Sports, like many social events, can be a perfect time and place to raise awareness and unite a community around important causes. Across the United States, families and communities are plagued by life-threatening diseases such as cancer, and many nonprofits, health funds, and practices are used to treat and care for patients and their families in difficult times. Inpatient care is one of the many forms of health practices across the country that help families.

Hospice of Hillsdale County is a nonprofit organization that specializes in inpatient care. Hostel care operates under the philosophy that death is a natural and final stage in life. Inpatient care organizations provide care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients while they and their families cope with terminal illness. The first patients admitted to the Hospice of Hillsdale County were admitted in 1984, and since then the organization has served 3,000 patients.
