Thanksgiving is upon us, which means the holiday season is in full swing.
Family and friends will soon gather around tables laden with the abundance of turkey, possibly even bacon and all the ornaments and sweets associated with it.
Where can you go to find a turkey, or if you want to get it easier, a meal?
Options are available from Colombian grocery stores, restaurants and hotels.
What are the options for turkey dinner, Thanksgiving Day in grocery stores and farmers market?
Despite supply chain problems, food stories like Hy-Vee or Natural Grocers do not expect any shortage in what is available to buy to create a holiday meal.
Basement with roots
While turkeys and other holiday ornaments are available at almost every grocery store, places like The Root Cellar and Natural Grocers have special options.
Orders can be placed through The Root Cellar subscription management system. Available items are:

Reservations at turkey stores are available until supplies run out.
“Typically stores will have some extras on Thanksgiving week, so customers can call and ask about them,” Pamela Lipshitz, director of public relations at Natural Grocers, wrote in an email.
Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. This includes a Vegan Rost filled with Tofurky, Roast Celebration in Field Roast and Roast Quorn Turk’y Style. These are on sale until December 31st.
For those with other dietary requirements, such as gluten-free, keto and paleo, Natural Grocers has an extensive library of recipes for Thanksgiving, Lipshitz wrote. Customers can also schedule an appointment with the store’s food health coach.
Gerbes has several options for turkeys, wrote Sheila Regehr, corporate affairs manager for Kroger, which is Gerbes’s parent company.
“We expect to see more customers ‘trading’ within turkey sizes and special turkey items (ready-to-bake / ready-to-bag, bone-in chests or fresh turkey),” she wrote.
While turkey still reigns supreme as Thanksgiving protein, customers are also opting for bacon and even roast beef, Regehr wrote.
Gerbes has a variety of Thanksgiving recipes also available through its website.

Hy-Vee has holiday food packages. She is also offering to buy a bacon, to get a turkey promotion.

Hy-Vee has 13 different holiday meal packages available. Service sizes range from two to 12 people.
“Hy-Vee holiday meal packages are perfect for virtual meetings and in person for lunch, dinner or brunch,” Tilby wrote.

Hy-Vee recommends that customers place orders at least one week before receipt or delivery. On Thanksgiving Day, pick-up and drop-off times may vary by store, and they should be contacted for details.
While Thanksgiving Day and other holidays can be an extra time, for many it is also a time when very little is available. Hy-Vee is running a program known as Scan Out Hunger.
The company aims to raise $ 500,000 for Feeding America, the equivalent of $ 5 million for local food banks. Hy-Vee is setting $ 150,000, or $ 1.5 million, for the $ 500,000 target. Until December 31, customers can donate by scanning any QR code “H” found in stores with a mobile device or by visiting deals.hy-vee.com.
